Day # 41

8:30 a.m.: We got some more snow at night

… have a look over the shoulder of the engineman

After waiting for an e-mail with some attachments (my photos I made with a Nikon D 60) for some days and to buy some strings for my basses I decided to make a litte tour to Stade to visit my friend. By the way PS 4 was waiting to be installed to my computer I believed. No that was a dream, I still have to wait until next weekend (keep on dreaming Real)… OK I got the photos and – as to be feared – my best one was a bit to dark and a lot of things more were to do with it….. here you see 1.000.000 steps reduced to 4!

from the left to the right: the original (tooo dark!) and afterwards the 4 edits I made later at home. The result of the tonal value editing I made in Stade looked like a shreddered photo (oops), so I had to start again when I was at home (ugh)…

Next shots I made on my way home…

OMG the sky tries to change the color – from grey-grey to blue-grey (sic.)

  1. Don't you love those days when the sun and sky insist on staying confused and grey and a bit brighter, then a bit darker, then just plain grey on grey??

  2. I agree with you. When I made the photo "Stade Burggraben 10.02.10" it was just that moment you described in your own beautiful words. I believe I wouldn't have made that photo. I passed that place without having an eye to the moat and the surroundings two hours ago.

  3. I think the light on those days makes for some tricky conditions but it can also enhance the setting.

  4. The trees are really good. You could have used them for "lines". They certainly draw you into the center of the photo. I like the icy window, too.

  5. A nice camera to work with. I'm going to purchase a camera in this price group when our house is sold because of the good handling and the results can be that wonderful. That's in our hands at last.

  6. @ trees – thank you that's the way i thought but the limit was four – not 400. What I wanna say is that we all have lots of pics due to the theme. Don't you think so? @ ice. Though I'm still waiting for the money that will come in once my 'little one' will always be with me. It needs no place and is always ready for a spontaneous shot and make some "memos" for a photo project you need some advanced tools for.

  7. Don't you find that you look at the world more closely when you are looking for photo ops?

  8. Indeed. The more eyes the more views.

  9. It's the most expensive thing I've even owned that wasn't I needed like a car or something like that. My husband talked me into getting it. I'm so glad he did.

  10. In this case I would call it worth the money 'cause it becomes valuable in the course of time.
