dear friends – sorry for the very few comments and replies from me but I have to ask you…

… something you maybe can’t answer. I for one am waisting my time for things like (the questions will say that)….

– why do I spend too much  time for posting one photo to the Photo-Quest group today (without any success)?

– why do I need more time for editing my posts  than for the words (see above)?

– why does something not work as it usually has to?

– why do so many people tell about sth. they want to do – and do not do that?

– why does a friend critisize my “absense” after never reacting on my comments and replies?

– why do I have the feeling that I’m wasting my time for things that are less important than the contents of a blog?

– why does the proofreader tool mark the word “Photomerge”?

by the way the photo has nothing to do with the content of this entry. I only placed it here to post it to another blog by using the URL – after I tried the URL ofjthis picture from  my library. In both tryings I had no success and it made me feel that I’m waisting my time again to try to make a post.

– (this question will follow tomorrow)

  1. Whoever said something to you RW should be hushed! You are not wasting your time. We are friends here and when someone isn’t here we miss them. I do especially. I love reading your posts and seeing your photos. The people here are real and they care about you. Please don’t get frustrated with the site and not come on. If you are having difficulties ask for help. There are a lot of people here that can help you solve problems. We love you and would miss you terrible if you weren’t here. You are NOT wasting your time here.

    • Well I totally agree with you Ladywise. It’s most of all some technical problems I had to fight with the last days. Something has changed in my life. Maybe I didn’t realize that I spent too much time to solve technical problems while being in the web. But now a lot of new contacts to old friends (some of them I had no contact to since more than 25 years!) are attacking my mail account (OMG I love it!). So I have lack of time and have to set new priorities. And one of them is – you bet – is to keep in touch with you all here on WordPress!

  2. At least I can answer one question:
“- why do so many people tell about sth. they want to do – and do not do that?”

In my case the reason is “lack of time” in most cases.
For example, last week I got ill with the rest of the family. Additionally, I had to drive both cats to the vet, because they got ill, too.
    Then my grandmother turned 90…

And if that were not enough I am a freelancer and when I get ill I simply keep on working anyway. Sometimes, I had to work till 4 am…
And time flies by so fast, it’s unbelievable.
A friend of mine recently became father and I still haven’t had the opportunity to visit them.
I’d simply need more time to do all the things I want, but you know, “It’s the Rise and Fall” of life, and things will get better eventually. 😉

So cheer up and everything’s gonna be good again finally.

    So, when people

    • That’s it my friend. The day only has 24 hours and we all need some time to recover. I know you are very active and you found a way to communicate this at the same time. I appreciate your great work (time to say it!!!) and that you care for your friend and relatives at the same time.

Be sure that you are one of the very few I’m really believing if you talk about lack of time.

  3. For some reason, VOXERS seemed less busy then – perhaps it’s WordPress. The world turns, we spin in opposite directions and suddenly realize we need to simplify. There are so many avenues to explore, so many people we would like to get to know. And some, who call you friend betray you.

Hug your cat, your love and de-stress over toxic comments or relationships – then get down to what really matters. And only you can figure that out for yourself.

    Love from across the pond.

    • *hugs* and thanks from the other side of the big pond!

What you say is so true. The only thing that is consistant is the change. And the changes are accelerating at the same time. It’s not that easy to be on the track but I’m sure that we who met each other have found a place to stay. And for me that is here 😉

  4. Hi RW, *waves* miss you and I haven’t been good about reading and posting…just too busy. But don’t get down on yourself and if you have issues with WP contact CountryCinderella as she is a wiz with it.

    • Missed you too Maureen and I’m glad you’re back.
I know CC is great in that subject but I don’t want to bore her about things that usually are working. I’ll wait for the next quest and if I’ll have the same problems (and I’m sure I don’t have them the next time otherwise I’ll aks for solutions)

      2010/11/29 at 9:43 am

      • CC loves to hear from people as she is bored and questions on WP gives her such a boost.

  5. Without more information, I can’t venture an answer to most of the questions. As for this one however:
“why do I have the feeling that I’m wasting my time for things that are less important than the contents of a blog?”

Um, because you’re trying to avoid your blog? Because you have nothing on which to post? Because your blog is boring you? Because you need distraction from your blog? Or (fill-in-the-blank)?

    • To be honest I must say most of your suppositions contain a bit of truth in fact. I should better stop wailing and ask more concretely if I have to ask something.

You helped me to find some clear questions…. and that is what I needed, cause those are the ones I can mostly answer by myself…

      Thank you for your help!

      2010/11/29 at 9:54 am

      • Glad I helped by getting you thinking. 🙂

  6. I liked the smaller, simple vox more than wordpress… That and life interfers with things. Otherwise I’d be on more, some people think you’re avoiding them when life happens.

(I’ve been having that issue with people elsewhere on the net..)

But they just need to chill, sit back.. And actually look at how much time they spend between the computer, internet, tv, and video games. Life holds so much more, and time is so very little and previous.

And unfortunately for more than most people, that pesky thing called work interfers with everything! Go figure.

The Holidays are a coming, and so is the colder weather. Days are shorter, so more of my time will be inside now.

    Take care!
