Original and Fake

I had some fun in the web and Photoshop what I wanna share with you

left: the original image by PhotoFunia (me on the t-shirt)                  right: edited by me

… and one more (with Tony and Kari, our cats)

here I made some color edits too

Mug Shot of Tony… and sth. ’bout the last week

… and a portrait of her and her sister Kari – our housemates…

… and something about last week..

I survived

these long and hard days and nights. Well the one who saved me was my friend – the photographer – who cancelled two jobs he asked me to be with to assist him.  So my time schedule was not that tight.  At least the “Easy Moving” Session was wonderful. We played more than four hours and I met a lot of old friends I didn’t see for years at that event. It was a fine place to reactivate good old contacts without talking about things like “Once upon a time in the stone age” 😉

It was worth that to practise and make rehearsals for that event  – f. eks. I played my upright bass on “Riders On The Storm”. I know that this sounds good (different!) but the audience was surprised about that sound – they loved it – for lots of them it was a new experience – and I was asked to play in another band what means MORE  GIGS!!!  And I love to play live on stage ’cause that’s the place where music really happens  not on i-tunes 😉

So clear that we’ll make it again – next year

Here you can see the place where it happened (at the center of the image that follows)

Some more shots will follow when and if I receive the photos a guy made on the event (and I feel they’ll be great)…

Some of 200 RAW’s I converted to JPEG’s today…

… and their big sisters

Holy crap – sorry for that but I love to be honest and that’s the only way I can express what I feel… It was a long time I spent on my computer today. OK the shots were ok what means there were nearly no edits to make before I converted them. But on the other side some other things had to be done (and I could do them while my computer is working – the “View NX 2”  converter is very slow I suppose)…

– wash the dishes *sic*

– ironing *sic*

– home health care – my love caught a gastric flu *sic*

– go shopping (empty fridge) *sic*

– drive to the car wash – a little attempt of escape without success *sic*

I realized that it takes a loooong long time to convert photos from RAW to JPEG and I asked myself “does it make any sense to do that (a few weeks ago I read in some forum thatit don’t mean a thing if you edit your RAW or JPEG-files… So I said to myself “Take a file and optimize it in RAW and then go to Photoshop to edit it, then take the same files, convert them as it is and try to do the very best with them only in Photoshop”.

And the result is – you can believe me – I’ll never shoot in JPEG again. After five *sics* now a *YAY* ’cause this day ended good for me at last

Good night fellas,

c u tomorrow!

She’s a Sweety…

Lots of RAW’s a waiting to be checked and assorted. I spent some time for this work today in the afternoon after I made a last rehearsal for the upcoming concert next weekend (no time to blog then  😦  …)
In a bunch of unsorted RAW files I found this photo of Kari, one of our three cats. She’s  most photogenic  of our  babes.  It’s one of the many shots I  made of her with my 70-300mm lens  a few weeks ago on our terrace… Some correction of white balance, saturation and  a little bit “correction” of the colors and some gaussian blur filter for the background  I had to make to accentuate  her beautiful face…
All of you who are passing by a wonderful and sunny weekend!
… and may the light be with you 😉

Day # 50

                                                    what's up dawg?

Why don't you send us packing out of the laundry? Why do you shave your skull? Why's the corridor full of basses and equipment? What about your

handheld? It nervs!!!! What does it mean – ringtone? We want the silence back! Some strange gear in your handbag – you never use to wear it if you go out! Gig? What's that? Take care of your ears (tinnitus!) but play loooud! Arena?? WHAT??? It's a venue? What's that? Whatever – we don't care what you do but don't forget our yum yum before you leave us!!! You got it, Servant?! OMG "Blackout" – some hard rockin' stuff – too loud for us!! OK ok – enjoy your show and say "hi" to the guys – particularly your guitarist and tell him – and the drummer too – they shouldn't play too loud 'cause the singer will lose his voice while trying to bear up! And be so kind as to perform the song "Don't let the bed bugs bite!" You got it SERVANT????? Have a good time, don't forget your slogan "Don't play drunk" and welcome back (if you're not too noisy when you arrive. We need to sleep)…..

                                                see ya!

Day # 39

I'm still waiting for the magic light. Here it's grey grey boring grey. Had a visit of a plumber an hour ago 'cause our conduit was frozen and we had no water. We were outside without any shower! That sucks. Meanwhile the work is done and now I feel like a human being again…. Hope the weather will change so that I can catch some sunny moods outside when we drive to mir sister to celebrate her 50th anniversary. The landscape in the surrounding seem to be boring but seen with another eye it's amazing – especially in winter… We'll see. What else happened? Nothing to get excited about. Spent the time to make some exercises in Photoshop (layers) to color my life…. That's it!

I sent our babies into a forest in Holmenkollen, Oslo, Norway 😉

Day # 33 “Goooood Mooooorning Fellas!!!!!!”

Holy crap. I woke up tooo early this morning. Our kitties terrorized us 'cause they thought to be a bit hungry.

Wanna say it seemed to be like that but not a bit of it. We think it was an act of vengeance 'cause we visited the vet yesterday in the evening. She told us while admiring our 2 little ladies that she's temporarely cockering up a sick cormorant. No wonder 'cause there's much ice on the lakes and rivers here in lower saxony and the cormorants that don't live ashore have huge problems to catch the fish they need. And they need a lot of it!

Back to kittens' declaration of war. Well the silence in the night was quiet suspicious and we had a few hours to rest but at 4 a. m. the punk started and we had no f****n' chance to close an eye. So we gave up and participated after we realized that they were not hungry. They loved it to be chased by us and when the blood in our veins was on working temperature they decided to relax. 'Cause we are well organized the coffee was ready and we were prepared to start a new day.

For me it means to organize an appointment with the photogroup I was in last year before I started voxing. I haven't seen my friend – he's the one who leads the group – a looong long time because I changed some jobs so I don't have to travel so much and that's the reason I've not been in his town the last five months. So it was time to meet him 'cause PS 4 is waiting for me (yayyyyy, can make some masks then)…

The appointment can be tomorrow and it's quiet nice to do it that day 'cause I have an appointment with "go for 2's" (our) lawyer. He posted us that he had heard some "Cacatua Bar" of us on TV. He asked us whether we've got some license fees for the broadcast and he's sure that it was our composition. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Day # 29

Imagine it's cold outside, snowy, the sky is boring grey and there's a vox group called Photo Quest. The work has been done and I already practised on bass and vocals for a new song – and there is some time left until we celebrate a cosy evening at a greek restaurant.

What shall I do? Go "photoshopping" with Kari    😉
